There’s no question that Kim Kardashian’s 43-year-old husband will go down in history as one of the top Grammy Award winners.
The famous rapper has won 21 awards during his tenure in the music business.
But what he just did has shocked millions of his fans. Kanye West recently took it to Twitter and shared a video of himself peeing on his 21 Grammy Awards.
He wrote: “Trust me … I WONT STOP.”
This tweet was pointing to his latest attempt to obtain control of his masters – also known as the copyright to his original songs.
On Monday, West began criticizing the music industry system, claiming that artists simply had little to no power because much of their work was controlled by major labels.
He threatened his Universal and Sony labels, and promised not to release any new music until he was released from his contracts with them.
Taking to Twitter he said, “90% of the record contracts on the planet are still on a royalty A standard record deal is a trap to NEVER have you recoup, and there’s all these hidden costs like the “distribution fees” many labels put in their contracts to make even more money off our work without even trying.”
This whole situation is becoming hectic for the rapper who also hoped to become the president of the US. A few minutes after the tweet, Kanye West also posted screenshots of a private contract he signed back in 2011 with Universal.
He wrote, “I feel so humbled and blessed that God has put me in a strong enough position to do this … Everyone keep praying.. It’s working… I am on my knees this morning”
He further criticized the media of ‘trying to kill’ black artists, including Michael Jackson. In support of the current BLM protests, he further wrote, ‘BLACK MASTERS MATTER’.
And the end he wrote, ‘I will do everything in my legal power and use my voice until all artist contracts are changed, starting with getting my masters for my children. I will not stop, I promise you. I am petty and very personal.’
Let’s see how the labels will respond to this. But the video of him peeing on his Grammy Awards has taken the internet by storm.
