Video Captures Kansas Deputy “Purposely” Running Over Fleeing Man


Kansa’s sheriff’s deputy is caught running over a black man with his truck in a video released recently.

35-year-old Lionel Womack filed a five-page long complaint against the deputy alleging excessive force. Womack said the Deputy ran over him intentionally on August 15 during an encounter in a Kansas field. The alleged deputy is identified as Jeremy Rodriguez. The incident took place as a consequence of a traffic violation.

Womack said he was freaked out when 4 vehicles surrounded his car, and he didn’t know what to do. He felt he was in danger as it is not safe to travel alone late at night, it was dark, and he was scared to death. Womack didn’t stop as he felt his life was in danger. The deputy thus knocked Womack to the ground and ran his truck over him.

The video shows Womack groaning in pain as he was moved down by the vehicle. He received several injuries on the pelvis, back, leg and foot. Michael Knuckelman, the lawyer of Womack, said the video was quite disturbing. He added that It was sickening beyond belief to see a deputy running over a man intentionally.

Michael Knuckelman said that there was no need to run a truck over Womack because there was no way for him to escape as he was surrounded by police vehicles from all sides.point 251 |

Kiowa County Sheriff Chris Tedder refused to comment on the situation when approached by reporters on Thursday.point 95 | The accused deputy remains on patrol, and apparently, no action has been taken against him yet.point 175 | 1

Womack, however, is jailed for a traffic infraction and attempting to dodge police. He has been treated for injuries that are not severe. Zee Womack, Womack’s wife, told reporters that her husband had faced another police dodging case three days ahead of this incident in Texas County, Oklahoma.
