Kansas became the fourth US state to ban transgender athletes from competing in girls’ sports.
The shocking news came as the state passed a new bill that would now prevent all transgender females from competing in sports relating to girls as well as women. Referred to as the ‘Fairness in Women’s Sports Act,’ the GOP-controlled state senate sent many people in absolute shock and awe over the recent decision.
Moreover, conservative supporters who supported the eyebrow-raising bill mentioned how the decision was accurate because it is apparently unfair for biological females to compete against athletes that were originally born as males.point 320 |

Many supporters of trans groups mentioned how the bill was ‘hateful’ as well as highly rooted in ‘bigotry’.
Now, the new measure is being sent towards the House of Representatives, which is actually controlled by the Republicans.
Meanwhile, Kansas isn’t the only state to make headlines with the controversial bill. In fact, it is the fourth state to implement such rules, following close behind in the footsteps of states like Idaho, Mississippi, as well as South Dakota too.
Kansas’s Senate approved the measure from the ‘Fairness in Women’s Sports Act’ with a mega 24-10 victory vote that took place on Wednesday.
Idaho took a similar decision last year, while news broke out about how Mississippi’s governor recently signed the measure, last week.
Earlier this month, lawmakers from South Dakota went on to pass the ban with the state’s governor promising to sign the bill.
One Republican senator for the bill mentioned to his colleagues present on the Senate floor, “Do you want to see women’s rights back 50 years.” On the other hand, another Republican supporter for the bill added how he backed the law as he fully believes in ‘old-fashioned chivalry.
