Vice President Kamala Harris received plenty of criticism after she was slammed for laughing hysterically at a reporter’s question.
According to media reports, one reporter questioned her about when she planned on visiting the southern border that is facing a major crisis. But instead of responding, she chose to laugh hysterically, at first. The incident took place just hours after images went viral of the dire conditions at migrant camps. Here, children lay helplessly on the floor as the facilities stood above 7 times their normal capacity.
Some critics referred to the camps as President Joe Biden’s hellhole which they believe occurred due to his poor governance and policymaking. And now, many are forced to suffer.
Meanwhile, the vice president’s stance regarding the whole situation was on another level altogether.
Her senseless laugh upon one reporter’s serious question was beyond bizarre for many seated at the press conference. Both Democrats and Republicans noted her behavior and later called her out for showing a lack of empathy and seriousness regarding the sure in migrants at the southern border.
In response to the reporter’s question of visiting the border, Harris replied, “Not today!” This was right before she began laughing hysterically and then went on to answer the question with how she has previously visited the area in the past and will hopefully do so soon again.
The sudden surge of illegal migrants has sparked great criticism for Biden’s administration.
As many experts warn how the situation is slowly getting out of control. Currently, the camp’s living conditions are above 7 times their normal capacity with heartbreaking scenes of unaccompanied children laying helplessly around going viral.
Today, the US has a new record level of illegal migrants entering through the border that the nation shares with Mexico. In the same way, local news outlets reported how Biden’s administration plans on sending out officials to Mexico as well as South America soon to address the surge.
As you can probably expect, social media was quick to call out the vice president too. Users on Twitter commented on how Kamala should better get down there fast. Another user went as far as calling her incompetent, explaining how she had no other response than to indulge in senseless behavior.
