Kamala Harris’ husband has been rebranded by the White House recently, going from Doug to Douglas, confirmed reports.
The sudden decision to change the name of the country’s ‘first gentleman’ was made by the White House. Now that means Vice President Kamala Harris’ husband has gone from Doug to Douglas Emhoff. According to reports from close insiders, the decision has been taken so as to make him appear more serious or shall we say, a more serious guy.
Douglas is a 56-year-old lawyer who is renowned for his goofy jokes and laid-back behavior. Therefore, the sound of just Doug didn’t feel too professional and serious to plenty, mentioned reports. In addition, his wardrobe was also of the more laid-back style comprising of casually themed blazers and t-shirts too.
Now, however, it appears that there has been a complete revamp as he has undergone a major makeover which many are calling the ‘moniker makeover.’
In the Biden administration’s press releases, he has gone through a series of changes that will help him appear more ‘second gentleman’ like, reported Politico recently.
On Twitter and several other of his social media accounts, he usually goes by the name of Doug and has stuck to that name for years, even during his wife’s first and second general election events. In addition, the most recent webpage of his current law firm also enlists him as ‘Doug.’ The firm is known as ‘DLA Piper.’
However, just a week before President Biden’s inauguration, it was revealed how the new Biden team had ditched his old name of Doug and opted to revamp it Douglas for all future press releases, advisories, and since then, they just don’t seem to want to go back to the old name, mentioned one media outlet.
