Age became an important topic of debate during the 2020 elections. Trump or Biden, whoever wins the election, would have become the oldest sitting president. As Biden has won the elections, his vice president will take center stage because Biden is more likely to suffer age-related health issues.
Dr. Kevin O’Connor from the George Washington University declared Biden as, “77-year-old healthy, vigorous male ready to execute his duties as the head of state.” He published his three-page long medical assessment on Joe Biden’s health on Tuesday, December 2019. People also debated that “Is someone of Trump and Biden age the right choice to govern a nation facing unemployment, health crisis, racial injustice, and global warming issues?”
“I will be completely transparent in terms of my health if I win the elections,” Biden said in an interview in September 2020.
President-elect has faced several health complications in the past years. He experienced two critical brain aneurysms and also got his gall bladder removed in 2003. His heartbeat is often irregular, and he is on medication for acid reflux and cholesterol. Biden also had episodic atrial fibrillation in2009.
Despite all this, Dr. O’Connor declared him fit for the presidency and said his health conditions are under control.
