The news comes after a bystander’s video of the shooting quickly became viral on social media, which shows an officer grabbing Blake by the back of his shirt and shot him seven times at point-blank range.

A second video that was taken from a different angle emerged, which shows Blake wrestling with the officers before the shooting occurred.

Both videos show Blake walking towards the driver’s side of his SUV and opening the door.

Blake’s father, who is also named Jacob Blake, said that he learned of about the officers shooting his son on Sunday night, and saw the viral video a few minutes later.

“What justified all those shots?” the senior Blake questioned, “What justified doing that in front of my grandsons? What are we doing?”

“I want to put my hand on my son’s cheek and kiss him on his forehead, and then I’ll be OK. I’ll kiss him with my mask. The first thing I want to do is touch my son.”

Some of the witnesses say that the younger Blake was simply trying to break up a fight.

Another witness at the scene said that “they start to wrestle.”

“The officer is punching on him. Two officers come to assist. They get him down on the curb behind his vehicle. Somehow he manages to get up. They said he has a knife. All of the officers pull out their guns. … (One of the officers) tells him, ‘Get out of the car!’ and he starts shooting.”

The same witness claims that he never saw a knife.

Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers said that the matter is still being investigated, the officers involved are on administrative leave, and that he has seen no information to suggest Blake had a knife or other weapon.

Meanwhile, the senior Blake said that the officers who shot his son were “the flint as well as the gasoline” that sparked the violence in Kenosha.

“Those police officers that shot my son like a dog in the street are responsible for everything that has happened in the city of Kenosha,” he said.
“My son is not responsible for it. My son didn’t have a weapon. He didn’t have a gun.”
