Protesters in Idaho took center stage as they embarked upon a mask burning event at the state capital on Saturday.
The news comes as more and more citizens enrage with fury and frustration over the recent COVID-19 related disruptions. In addition, at least three different members from the state’s legislature were present to cheer the crowds on. This included Lt. Gov Janice McGeachin as well, with the news being confirmed by local media reports.
In the same way, the video posted to Twitter showed how most of the actual mask burning protests took place at a tiny, self-contained fire that became lit inside garbage cans. Moreover, recent footage also depicted how one person burned an image of President Joe Biden too.
Shockingly, many protesters were children with their parents, displaying bold signs that read, “I will not self-suffocate.”
In another viral Twitter video, one protester goes as far as claiming “We stand here today to rein back on the Government. To help reestablish our Republican form of the government that has a great balance between different branches.”
Protesters chanted slogans against the virus restrictions which they believe have turned their routines and lifestyles upside down.
“This is a widespread grassroots movement or an uprising in that regard. And it has come off very well today.”
Just last week, Idaho’s legislators introduced a new bill that would term mask mandates as illegal. While there is currently no statewide requirement at the moment, mask mandates are currently in force in about 7 of the 11 counties of Idaho.
The images and shocking video footage of the incident took social media by storm with many questioning how protesters put young kids at the forefront to get their message across.
Here, children threw piles of masks in live burning fire pits with many others cheering on.
One protester also started yelling, “Fire, are you hungry,” right before he dumped his face covering at the Idaho state rally.Do you think this is the right way to protest? Let us know in the comments section.
