In India, a 24-year-old woman suffered horrific injuries after her husband allegedly stitched her vagina, suspecting she was cheating on him.

Inside their house in Rampur district, the woman writhed in pain and begged for mercy while her husband, 25, tied and ‘closed’ her genitals with an aluminum thread.

The husband left their house leaving his wife seriously injured and bloody. The woman somehow sought help from her mother and was immediately brought to a local hospital.

The 25-year-old accused was charged and arrested the same day —within hours of the assault— and sent to prison.

“The accused is a drunkard,” Circle Officer Srikant Prajapati told The Times of India. “He drives a combine harvester and often used to go out for days during the harvesting season.”

“He suspected that his wife was in a relationship with another man,” the officer said. “He was not feeling guilty for his actions.”

According to Superintendent Shogun Gautam, ‘the medical examination of the woman has confirmed that she had suffered serious injuries in her private parts.’

“Her husband was arrested and sent to jail,” Gautam said. “We are ensuring that she gets proper treatment at the government hospital.”

The wife also said that she suffered a miscarriage in the past after being kicked on the stomach by her husband.

“My husband used to beat me up for no reason,” the woman said. “He also suspected that I had an extramarital affair.”

“I had never imagined that he would indulge in such a horrible act.”
