An Alabaman man’s fingerprints were found on a claimed murder weapon who is accused of hitting his cam-girl wife with a bottle of Lucid absinthe.
The 47-year-old William West’s fingerprints – left thumb and left ring finger – were detected on the absinthe bottle that he used to kill his wife, Kathleen Dawn West. The 42-year-old woman was a stay-at-home mom who lived a double life as “Kitty Kat West” on an adult subscription-only website.
Kathleen West died on the 12th of January, 2018. The cause of her death was blunt force trauma from being hit in the head with the bottle. Her body was partially nude and was found outside her home in Calera.
The members of the jury also saw text messages between the couple weeks before the murder.
Eight days before her body was found the married couple had an argument on messages. Kathleen wrote to her husband that she knows he does not want to be with her anymore. She also mentioned that William is throwing away 14 years of marriage, as the text messages show.
A 90 minutes video of William West being questioned by detectives was also shown to the jurors. William said that they both had about six drinks, and then he went to bed. He continued, Kathleen changed into lingerie to take photos while he went to their bedroom. However, he said he went to bed at 10:30 PM, and an application on his phone shows that he took 18 steps between 11:03 PM and 11:10 PM.
William West, who months later pleaded not guilty, claimed that he was not bothered by his wife’s exhibitionist side. William also added that they had a conversation about her desire to have sex with other women, including three women in their neighborhood, according to the report.
William also pointed out to the investigators that he could never hurt his way, not even accidentally.
