Over the holiday weekend, at least six children lost their lives in gun shootings across the US – reported CNN.
These brutal killing have sparked calls from the officials to combat gun violence in their communities.
The innocent children of 6-14 years of age were shot and killed while they were doing their routine things – walking in the mall, riding in the car and playing in the yard.
On Saturday night in Atlanta, an eight-year-old angel Secoriea Turner was sitting in the car with her mother when someone opened fire taking away the life of a little girl. According to police, someone illegally placed barricades in the area where Secoriea was fatally shot.

In Chicago, Natalia Wallace aged 7 years, was killed while she was playing in the yard with the group of children in Chicago’s Austin neighbourhood. According to Chicago police, three suspects jumped out of the light-coloured vehicle and opened fire on the group. Moreover, another 14-year-old was killed on July 4 due to gun violence.
Over the holiday weekend, not just the children, but elders were also the victims of gun violence in several cities across the US. According to NYPD statistics, more than 44 shooting incidents have been reported affecting nearly 63 victims in New York.
Even Chicago represents the same story; around 75 people had been shot over the weekend out of which 13 were critical as stated by CNN affiliate WLS.
