Children’s Harry Potter Book Festival CANCELED Over JK Rowling’s ‘Gender’ Comments


Author JK Rowling was recently called out for her shocking transphobia row, causing the children’s Harry Potter book festival to be canceled in New Zealand.

A literary festival is a prestigious event that many people look forward to. However, it appears that this year won’t be the same as New Zealand has scrapped the plans for the event to take place, citing JK Rowling’s gender-themed comments recently.

The 55-year-old star author who is renowned for her best-selling Harry Potter book collection is in the line of fire after she has faced countless accusations resorting to many people calling her a transphobic individual.

Recently, the author published her blog post where she argued how biological sex is real. But clearly, this is not the first time that the star was called out for her unique and controversial opinions. Previously, the 55-year-old has made similar offensive comments relating to the LGBTQ community.

But what did the star say now was a question on so many people’s minds.

Well, Rowling appears to have fallen victim to the ever-so-trending cancel culture. And that’s because her thoughts on gender issues have plenty of individuals fuming. In simpler terms, she questioned whether men who identify themselves as women are actually the same as those who are truly females biologically.

And that was enough to unleash pounds of abuse and great criticism across the board. Moreover, many continue to call for all of her books to be boycotted as they felt she doesn’t seem to understand the true meaning of what she’s saying, despite being such a celebrated writer.
