Social distancing has made life quite burdensome for us.
People can’t see their loved ones because of the rules imposed by governments. You’d see a lot of people badly yearning for their dear ones as they seem unable to shed the distance keeping them apart.
In a difficult time like this, if one gets to see someone they have been longing for, it’s good enough to take them to cloud nine. This is what happened with a 92-year-old granny living by herself in Leeds, UK. She was over the moon seeing her great-granddaughter from the window of her house.
Joan Cartwright misses her grandson and his family a lot as they are living far away from her. Recently, her grandson Will’s wife Jen gave birth to their daughter and they showed up in front of Cartwright’s door in Leeds to let the granny see her 6th great-grandchild.
Oh my, it was a momentous moment as the 92-year-old pensioner could be seen opening her arms wide enough to welcome her 6th great-grandchild. Most, unfortunately, she could only do a pretend-hug, she couldn’t clasp her great-grandchild in reality because of the social distancing rules applied to every man jack.
Will, who is nearly 36 years old, lifted her newborn up in an attempt to make his grandmother have a clear sight of the baby. This visit was totally a source of amazement for the woman as she was not informed about it beforehand.
In the spur of the moment, Joan shouted, ‘’I hope I could hold her in my hands someday.’’
Joan lost her husband a few years ago and she’s been living alone in her apartment in Leeds. Now she’s even deprived of seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren amid the current fiasco of coronavirus. She hopes to get those good old days back when she used to be around her huge family.
