Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is roasting drive-thrus, and this time, he went to Costa Coffee.
Ramsay, 54, was in a playful mood as he went to pick up a bacon sandwich, but was horrified to discover that it had been microwaved.
In his TikTok account, Ramsay was seen rolling up to a Costa drive-thru and ordered for a ‘British smoked bacon bap’. The celebrity chef went on to ask the person over the intercom about the brand of the sauces used, as well as where did the bacon be from.
Given the difficult situation he was in, the server over the intercom is still polite and admitted that he has no idea where the ‘exact location’ the bacon is from but assured Gordon that it is British sourced.
“Is there any chance I could have an extra rasher, please?” Gordon asked.
However, the celebrity chef is disappointed when he found out that it’s the last smoked bacon sandwich in the branch.
In part two of the TikTok video, Ramsay pulls up to the pickup window and the real roasting began.
Ramsay deconstructed the sandwich like a scene out of Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares. The Costa Coffee staff was seen giggling in the background as the chef picks up the bacon like he’s examining a dead specimen.
“Is that it?” Ramsay shouted, “£2.90 for that?”
Another worker comes to the window to tell the chef that the smoked bacon sandwich actually costs £3.00.
“Is the grill on?” Ramsay asked.
“It’s all done in a microwave oven,” the drive-thru server responded.
Anticipating the chef’s reaction, the worker started laughing as Ramsay shouts: “YOU DON’T MICROWAVE BACON!”
While it’s ‘smoked bacon sandwich’ we can’t deny the fact that it’s a drive-thru, so sandwiches are mostly done and heated in the microwave.
Ramsay was obviously aware of that and he did that just for fun.
Ramsay’s TikTok videos gained millions of views with commenters saying they are amused at the chef’s roasting antics.
