A man is going viral after putting up his story on Reddit where he asked for advice after getting into a major argument.
According to the man, his girlfriend can’t stand the tattoo of his dead son that’s printed across his chest. Despite knowing how meaningful and sentimental it is for him, his girlfriend fails to be on the same page as him, forcing him to get it removed.
In a private post on Reddit, the 26-year-old mentioned in detail the most heartbreaking story relating to how his young son passed away tragically. He described the tale in the saddest tone, revealing how his son was born premature and simply couldn’t come out strong.
The dad explained how devastated he felt after his son’s death as he loved him so much. “I fell in love with him from the moment that he was born. And when he died, I thought it was necessary for me to pay tribute to him. For this reason, I got his name tattooed across my chest,” he added.
While his ex-girlfriend supports the idea totally, his new partner is the exact opposite. Simply put, she can’t stand staring at it and wants him to get it removed as soon as possible.
In case you’re wondering why, well, the child’s name is shared with the dad’s ex-partner. Therefore, she wants him to change it so the couple can begin their own story without looking at the past.
“She has been bothered by it for a while now,” the dad explained. He wrongly assumed that his girlfriend would simply get over the thought but he was clearly wrong and now the argument is taking a toll on their relationship too.
Hence, clueless about what to do, he resorted to making an anonymous post on Reddit so that people could give their advice on the matter.
While the majority agreed that his partner had no control over his body, there were some who felt they knew where she was coming from. Seeing your lover’s ex’s name on your chest isn’t the best feeling in the world, another added.
