A 3-year-old Trinity Randolph was playing in her frozen dollhouse with her dad Brandon Waddles at home, where they were brutally murdered on Friday.
Police arrived at the crime scene, but the 21-year old Brandon Waddles was pronounced dead at the scene. They took Trinity Randolph to the Kosair Children’s Hospital, but due to her severe injuries, she couldn’t survive.
According to the Louisville police, both victims suffered multiple gunshots in the suspected drive-by shooting. Police were knocking door to door and questioning neighbors to get the answers of exactly what had happened on Friday afternoon. Police haven’t released any information or any details about the investigation.
Waddles and little Trinity come as the 96th and 97th homicides in the city this year, and Trinity is the youngest victim of all.
Victims’ family held an emotional press conference on Sunday.
Trinity’s grandfather Tyronn Howlett said that her wish was to become a princess, and she loved to spend hours playing in the dollhouse and dress up games, and she was killed in the dollhouse she loved the most.
He also added that the law needs to prevail because the child was innocent.
And her grandmother Cheryl Howlett said that Trinity was an adorable and beautiful girl, she was jolly and had a very outgoing personality, and also described her as intelligent and smart.
Trinity’s mother, Tynekia Randolph, is asking for justice for her husband and her daughter and help as she has to raise her month’s old son all by herself.
Trinity’s family has set up the funding page to cover up the expenses of her funeral. Trinity’s father, Brandon Waddles, was a local musician who was known by the name of ‘DareallilB.’
Rapper Percy miller who is also known as Master P, an American rapper and philanthropist, took the responsibility to cover the cost of the funeral.
By talking to the media, he said that it is sad to see the 3-year old girl who could have been the next president or doctor, lawyer, or a teacher but was taken away from this community, separated from her future and her family.
Local Bishop Dennis V. Lyons because of the ongoing protests and the frustration with the LMPD people and not willing to share the information. He said that the community is not proactive like it used to be.
Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer said that it saddened to see the families who are affected by the rise of violence. He noted that LMPD is trying its best to control the crime. He added that public safety is co-produced by law enforcement and the community. We need the help of the public to stop these shootings.
2020 is said to be the deadliest year of Louisville. At least 97 people have been killed in gun violence, and most of them were in their twenties.
According to the neighbor Tony Hickman, he heard at least six gunshots and thought some kids are shooting firecrackers before realizing those were gunshots.
