Paris received a gruesome awakening when French police shot dead a man for slitting a middle school teacher’s throat on the streets.
According to media reports, the incident took place in Paris’ suburban district, leaving many stunned beyond belief. At the same time, news agencies confirmed how the victim was a teacher. He reportedly showed caricatures of the Holy Prophet Muhammad during his class sessions.
Furthermore, French police patrol teams spotted the suspect holding a knife, just miles away from the crime scene. They revealed the exact location as Conflans Sainte-Honorine. It’s a suburb present in the north-west side of the city.
Local French newspapers expressed how the victim’s body was so badly mutilated that you couldn’t even recognize it. On the other hand, others claim that the body appeared decapitated.
A spokesperson from the French police confirmed how the officers carried out a successful operation, shooting the suspect dead. Meanwhile, earlier today, police warned members of the public to stay away from the crime scene area.
Investigations regarding the attack are still on the rise. A prosecutor for the French anti-terror says that it’s investigating the tragic attack.
At the same time, France’s interior minister claims he is urgently getting back to the city. He was on a travel tour to Morocco but after hearing about the incident, decided to turn back quickly.
This isn’t the first time that incidents involving hate and crime took place in the famous city of love. Recently, reports starting buzzing in regarding a horrifying knife attack in the city. Hence, this is another prime example of national trauma.
French president Macron condemned the attack, calling it ‘an attempt to strike down the country’s republic.’ He expressed how it was indeed a terrorist attack.
