White Lion quadruplets prepare to make their first public appearance after taking birth at a zoo in eastern China.
The cubs were born at Nantong Forest Safari Park in Jiangsu on November 6. The four male cubs were captured playing with each other under the observation of Zookeepers at Nantong Forest Safari Park. The two-month-old cubs were captured eating a bowl of meat mash, and they looked adorable.
White lions are extremely rare, and currently, there is no separate class for them.
They are classified under the category of the Panthera Leo.White lions have got a distinct fur caused by a recessive mutation, and they are scarce.
Although they have unique white fur, they are not considered albinos. Currently, there are only 13 white lions living in the wild and around a hundred in captivity.The zoo management plans to let the tourists see the cubs for the first time after their birth this Saturday, December 26. The adorable pictures of the baby lions are making people fall head over heels in love with them. The cubs are reported to be growing well and were given their first bath on Monday.
The majestic white line owes its unique white color to leucism. They are rare because both the parents of white lions need to have a recessive mutation in the melanin regulating gene. A researcher said he believes that they are born more often, but many die before reaching adulthood.
Although White lions are so rare on the planet, the law does not protect them because they are not classified as distinct species.
