In one of the most heartbreaking stories ever, a father revealed how he snapped and killed his 2-year-old son.
The Texas father was arrested by authorities for brutally punching his young son. Moreover, reports claim that the punch was so severe that the young toddler died while receiving potty training.
Officials from the Harris County Sheriff’s Department in Houston arrested the violent 21-year-old father, named Antonio Hicks. This was just moments after his son passed away at a nearby local hospital.
According to reports, Hicks rushed his unresponsive child to the emergency department at Houston’s Northwest Emergency Center, late Sunday afternoon. However, his efforts were in vain as his son soon passed away.
Other sources showed how the 2-year-old suffered from multiple injuries, that included both recent as well as healing wounds. However, none of the clinical findings were consistent with the history provided by the father.
After speaking to deputies present at the crime scene, the 21-year-old said that an unidentified individual attacked both him and his son, as they were on a walk.
Meanwhile, Hicks did admit that he violently hit his son across his chest, causing him to ‘snap,’ while receiving potty training.
According to sources from KHOU, the 2-year old’s mother was present at home during the incident, and that’s when she found him lying on the floor, unresponsive. She also made claims to authorities about countless slaps and loud punches, coming from another room.
Hicks has been charged with severe bodily injuries, with a whopping $250,000 release bond across his name. However, the final charges could be upgraded after the autopsy’s completion.
Recently, loved ones gathered for a vigil in the toddler’s honor, who was commonly referred to as Baby K. Likewise, loved ones put several balloons as well as stuffed characters from his favorite television show outside his home.
This included numerous candles in the shape of a K, as loved ones grieved the little boy’s tragic death.
