Driver Crashes Car After Getting Scared By A Spider Inside His Car

A driver crashed his car onto a road sign after seeing a spider inside his car and tried to shoo it away.

He was driving through Kite Hill in Wootton, Isle of Wight when the sight of the arachnid freaked him out.

The Isle of Wight Police posted the incident on their Facebook page, warning the drivers about the disruption the accident has caused.

“Our ARV/colleagues have had a busy afternoon. They currently are dealing with this vehicle on Kite Hill in Wootton so please bear this in mind when you are passing through this way as the traffic might be slightly slower moving until this vehicle is recovered.

“This driver was trying to remove a spider from his vehicle at the time of this incident.

“We are glad to say the driver only has minor injuries         From [sic] this incident but as always please keep your eyes on the road as there are lots of distractions around at this time of year.”

While the driver walked away with minor injuries, his hatchback knocked over the signpost and almost split the bumper in half.

As the accident is undeniably unfortunate, many people saw the funny side and shared the piece of their spider-related stories.

One commenter named Anna Burns shared how she “was driving my children to school when they helpfully pointed out I had a spider in my hood, climbing towards my head,” and thought she “was going to have a heart attack fighting the urge to scrabble at my clothing whilst driving,” while ending her comment with a laughing emoji.

Meanwhile, another commenter named Jamie Marshall commended the driver and wrote, “10/10 for hitting it bang in the middle of the badge!! That is running out of talent at its finest! Great effort!”

Terry Stomper Barnes rather inquired about the welfare of the innocent arachnid and wrote, “Has anyone asked if the spider was ok? Seriously though pleased everyone was ok.”
