A pathologist has just testified in the Derek Chauvin trial, making the most startling revelations from a medical expert’s point of view yet.
According to the medical expert’s testimony, he went on to state how George Floyd’s underlying heart conditions were responsible for his death and not the use of excessive police force.
“George Floyd died from his heart problems, as well as due to the effects of the drug fentanyl in his system, police kneeling above him, the inhalation of car exhaust fumes, and a tumor present in his hip,” the pathologist mentioned in his testimony during the Derek Chauvin trial on Wednesday.“Due to all of those factors combined, Mr. Floyd died,” mentioned pathologist Dr. David Fowler, who is being termed as an expert witness for the defense side.
In addition, the pathologist went on to argue how George Floyd had significantly small amounts of oxygen and blood levels as compared to normal healthy levels due to his prevalent and underlying heart condition.
“There was a significant narrowing of the heart arteries that include the coronary arteries which were close to their origin. And that is really consistent with his entire heart. And that tragically was subjected to a reduced supply,” mentioned Dr. Fowler in front of the jury this morning.
During his testimony, Dr. Fowler went on to claim how his statements were a combination of his as well as an expert team of forensic pathologists, followed by other leading physicians who worked long and hard to reach this particular opinion.
So far, in the entire trial for Derek Chauvin, all medical experts in the past went on claiming how George Floyd’s death was merely due to excessive police force, which comprised of Chauvin kneeling down on Floyd’s neck for more than 9 minutes.
But now, Dr.
Fowler really raised eyebrows with his statement which indirectly gave primary importance to Floyd’s heart condition as the leading cause of his death.
