Demi Lovato has faced criticism online for cuddling turkeys at an animal sanctuary before roasting a bird for her Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday.
The 28-year-old singer showed to millions of fans in her Instagram story the roasted turkey that she made for Thanksgiving, and as a caption, she wrote “I’m thankful for all of you”
Followers were quick to point out Demi’s participation at an animal sanctuary where the photo was taken of her as she was cuddling a ‘pet’ turkey before the holidays.
The fans noticed and highlighted the huge jump from carnivore to conservationist, with an earlier post where Demi tried encouraging people’s empathy for turkeys in this season.
The Farm Sanctuary wrote earlier this month that the turkeys were so excited to meet Demi Lovato at their California Sanctuary, thanked her for visiting, and they loved having her at their farm.
The animal sanctuary also wrote another post with the caption that turkeys are bright, social animals who enjoy being pet, just ask Demi Lovato.
Last month the singer posted several photos of her visiting the farm sanctuary where the animals were all rescued from cruelty.
She wrote that the highlight of her tour was cuddling with a rescued turkey named Sandy.
She wrote, not only are these animals cute, but they are forgiving. She added that the animals at @farmsanctuary had to learn to trust humans after what they’d been through, and their strength and resilience is incredible.A Twitter user wrote that the most cringiest moment of today is that Demi Lovato is posing with turkey in a photo promoting an animal sanctuary that fights animal agriculture, and later Demi makes turkey for Thanksgiving.
One of the followers made the popular ‘how it started’ vs.
‘How it’s going’ meme comparing Demi Lovato’s turkey photos.
