A video circulating on social media shows a cyclist deliberately hitting a girl with his knee.
On Friday, December 25, the incident took place at a nature park in Baraque Michel, Belgium. The girl was walking happily with her mother when a man on a cycle appears from a bend and hit her with the knee, leading the girl to tumble down the cold, snowy road.
The footage shows the stranger sounding the bell, but the woman and the kid couldn’t listen to it, probably because their ears were covered with hats and hoods. The child was identified as Neia and has received no serious injury during the incident. The dad was infuriated by the whole scene and chased the cyclist for confrontation.
Patrick Mpasa was filming his wife and daughter walking on the snowy road when the unpleasant incident occurred. He shared the video on social media and asked people if the cyclist should apologize or not. He also said the man refused to apologize when he stopped him; thus, he thinks it is his right to report the incident to the police.
Public prosecutors said they are aware of the incident and are investigating the matter. The family also said that if he had bumped into the girl mistakenly, he must stop to make sure that she is okay instead of passing by without paying any attention. Police have asked the witnesses and the family to contact them and provide the necessary details.
