Heroic Couple Who Rescued ‘Freezing Dog’ Reported To Police For Breaching Lockdown


An Irish couple who recently rescued a freezing golden retriever puppy was reported to the police for breaching lockdown rules.

Local news outlets confirmed how Ciara Nolan and Jean Francois Bonnet were out on an adventurous hike. And that’s when they stumbled upon a pup who was freezing in the cold. On that note, the couple didn’t think twice and instead went ahead to rescue the pup.

The couple was on a trip through the Republic of Ireland’s Wicklow Peaks and that’s when they laid eyes on the innocent furry creature, who lay helplessly stranded in the cold. Reports confirmed how the dog was an 8-year-old dog named Neesha that belonged to the Golden Retriever breed.

A spokesperson for a local news agency confirmed how the police were carrying out an investigation in relation to the complaint that arose in the premises of Wicklow’s Donard area. Currently, the area is closed and many await the outcome of the inquiry reported.

Both Nolan and Bonnet were living at a lodge in the area which is called the Elbowroom Escape in Donard. Soon the couple decided to embark upon a hike, after which they found the dog along their journey.

Reports mentioned how the lodge where the couple was staying offered several ‘mental health breaks’ for all the medical doctors that worked as frontline workers. But the people that made the particular complaint mentioned how the couple breached the lockdown’s rule which states 5 km non-essential travel is prohibited under the current restriction situation.

The couple claims the dog was frozen and could barely move. And that’s why they had to make the rescue before it was too late. It couldn’t even bark or stand on its two feet, with plenty of wounds on his legs too.

Therefore, the duo carried the pup a good 10km back down the peak, dressing her in warm clothing too. They recorded the entire event and shared it on their TikTok account as well. And ever since then, the story went viral, gaining around 3 million views.
