Police officers in California fatally shot an individual in front of his young 7-year-old stepson recently.
Local media outlets confirmed how chilling bodycam footage of the incident was revealed, showing the dramatic minute-by-minute events that occurred throughout the incident.
In the video, viewers can hear the haunting sounds of a very scared and terrified 7-year old who repeatedly begins to cry, “He is my dad!” However, initial investigations into the incident showed how the suspect shot carried a loaded gun, which he reportedly pointed towards the police officers during the intense showdown.
The graphic-themed footage was revealed by authorities on Wednesday, showing how the officers from Burbank’s police department rushed to the scene after reports of a young child wandering alone in a parking lot made their way to 911 sources on March 8th.
One employee who worked at the same hotel mentioned how he was the one who requested the police to come on over and carry out a welfare check after discovering the presence of a young boy who he claimed looked lost. Moreover, the employee emphasized how the boy wandered around for a good 30 minutes outside alone.
In the chilling footage, one officer tries to make his way towards the young child, questioning him about his father’s whereabouts. On that note, the boy explains how his father is here and was just going to ‘get a car.’
Soon, police discover how the young child and his father were both involved in a recent car crash that took place at a nearby freeway. But that vehicle was reportedly stolen from Las Vegas, mentioned reports.
Therefore, the pair fled on foot, right before they made their way to the hotel’s parking lot. The father allegedly tried to break into several vehicles, right before making a breakthrough by stealing a maroon-toned Honda Accord. And when he arrived back at the hotel, cops confronted him.
Soon, gunfire emerges with one officer shooting three times. The young boy starts to yell, no, no, no! Soon, the father was pronounced dead after arriving at the hospital.
