Heartbreaking footage surfaced on social media, showing how cops in Australia ripped away a breastfeeding child from his mom.
In the footage, you can clearly see the little toddler clutching close to his mum’s chest. At that very moment, she pleads to cops and social workers to not take him away from her. Reports confirmed how the shocking incident took place near Byron Bay, a bushland area in New South Wales, just last week.
Meanwhile, authorities try their level best to talk to the pleading mother, forcing her to hand over her child to them. But as she resists, they move in with social workers to forcefully grab her son as he suckles on to his mum.
In the tragic video clip, the mum tells officials that this isn’t the right way to handle matters. “This is my baby,” she continues to yell and scream. “This is against all human rights. Don’t do this to him.”
As moments pass on, the officers make an attempt to try and explain to the mother that what she is doing, is actually causing her baby harm. In particular, they were referencing how the mum was squeezing him.
On the other hand, the video also shows social workers telling the mother that she simply has no other option but to hand over her child. Another woman steps in and says, “He’s crying. We will sort all of the matters but now he is going to have to go. This isn’t going to end differently.”
Since little progress is made over negotiations, the mum requests 5 more minutes so she can finish breastfeeding him. At that moment, the officers enter and seize away the child, forcing him out of her arms. Currently, investigations are underway and it still remains unknown as to why the baby was taken in the first place.
Meanwhile, the family claims the baby was stolen from them. Hence, they’ve started a GoFundMe page that states officers took away the baby due to false and misleading information. The family has no clue about the baby’s whereabouts and appeals for assistance too.
