In recent months, Netflix has seen some pretty massive videos, but the new Chris Hemsworth movie is going to become the biggest to date.
Chris Hemsworth’s action-thriller Extraction, directed by Sam Hargrave and developed by Avengers: Endgame’s Anthony and Joe Russo, premiered on Netflix to huge numbers on 24 April. It is predicted to be watched in its first four weeks by an impressive 90 million households.
Sharing his enthusiasm over how good the movie is going, the 36-year-old Australian actor posted a video of his character-Tyler Rake-from the action flick.
“EXTRACTION is well on the way to become Netflix’s greatest ever movie premiere — with a estimated 90 million homes watching the action in the first 4 weeks. Congratulations to everyone who’s watched so far!” Netflix’s official handle tweeted.
He also added that they are ‘Blown away’ by the response which Extraction has received. He thanked his fans for watching the video, and urged others to watch it.
The film was composed by Joe Russo. Even the Russo brothers took to Twitter to thank fans for watching the video. They wrote, “For all the awesome love and support for # Extraction, we can’t thank you enough! We really have the incredible fan base.
The film is based on protagonist Tyler Rake as a black market assassin who has to use his skills to rescue the abducted son of an international drug lord who has been incarcerated.
While it is set to be the highest grossing premiere for Netflix, the 116-minute action film has earned a 70 percent viewer ranking on Rotten Tomatoes so far.
Many reviews have been fairly mixed, though others seem disappointed the film wouldn’t be hitting cinemas for the full experience.
The film is based on Ande Parks’ graphic novel Ciudad and stars in main roles are Rudraksh Jaiswal, Randeep Hooda, Priyanshu Painyulli, Golshifteh Farhani, David Harbour and Pankaj Tripathi.
