A few weeks ago, an important news came from China that the country’s done away with Coronavirus amid a 2-month lockdown.
A bunch of videos was released where doctors and healthcare staff could be seen receiving goodbyes and applause from everyone getting tapped there.
Wuhan is the Chinese province/state where it all started, and it’s the same place where most people got afflicted with the deadly virus. China emphatically stated that they have also freed Wuhan from the virus. The authenticity of this claim may or may not be dubious.
However, China has recently put a whole city of theirs under complete lockdown, and according to the reason that has been shared with the media, an infected student from New York came back to his hometown, Harbin, and imparted the virus to over 70 citizens.
The Chinese government fears that the virus would start circulating amongst the masses in little to no time if it’s not stopped. They are already aware of COVID-19’s tendency to escalate and contaminate a large number of people. Amid this apprehension, they’re not allowing the city to remain open anymore.
Harbin is a city of 10 million people and is situated in the northeastern part of the country. The lockdown imposed in this city appears to be the strictest lockdown till date. There’s an outright ban on outings and enormous gatherings. On an exceptional note, all citizens are also being meticulously monitored.
The news of more than 70 people falling victim to the deadliest Coronavirus alarmed the government, and they didn’t take another moment to re-evaluate their decision to put the whole city under a strict surveillance. That’s the modus operandi of the Chinese government, they work in this fashion.
There’s screening and testing taking place on all exit and entrance points at a wide scale. They’ve installed checkpoints at railway stations and airports connecting Harbin to the rest of the globe including China.
