Prince Charles, 71 who is the prince of whales carries coronavirus and might have become infected just 24 hours after meeting his Queen’s 93-year-old mother yesterday, who looks fine but has been seeking medical care since her son was infected, it was announced today.
He was tested positive yesterday and has been in self-isolation with the Duchess of Cornwall at Balmoral Castle in Scotland, who is without any symptoms for the virus that has killed 424 and infected 8,000 more in the UK till now.
Charles became sick a fortnight since he met with Monaco’s coronavirus infected Prince Albert, who checked positively five days earlier after sitting in front of the Prince of Wales at an London known as WaterAid fundraiser which held on March 10.
He was there for investitures at Buckingham Palace on March 12, where he met the Queen ‘ briefly’ and his diagnosis will intensify health concerns at elderly royals like his mother and Prince Philip, who are still at Windsor Castle.
William and Kate are in Norfolk’s Anmer Hall whereas Harry and Meghan left for Canada saying goodbye to the royal life.
A spokesman for Clarence House said:’ The Prince of Wales has tested Coronavirus positively.
He has shown flu like symptoms but other than that remains in better health and has served as normal from home over the last few days.
Moreover, Cornwall’s duchess was also screened, but may not have the infection. The Prince and the Princess are now self-quarantined and according to policy and medical advice.According to the spokesperson it was difficult to tell if he received it because of the vast amount of public promises he made in’ recent weeks’-but it does raise concerns about how he heard it from Albert and if he distributed it on his own.
Before he became ill, amid the coronavirus epidemic, the successor to the throne managed to carry out public duties-but stopped shaking hands, by using a sign of namaste.
But he’s gotCovid-19 after avoiding physical contact with people-and it came days after a Buckingham Palace staff member tested positive for coronavirus.
Medical opinion is that a more serious case is unlikely to turn into one. The Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex, as well as the Queen, along with his sons have met him. Charles had displayed “minor symptoms” throughout the weekend, until being checked on Monday.
A spokeswoman for Buckingham Palace has said:’ Her Majesty The Queen is still in excellent shape. The Queen last saw The Prince of Wales on the morning of March 12 briefly and is taking all the necessary recommendations about her health.
