In a rather unfortunate incident, 13 schoolgirls from North London received the shock of their lives after ingesting a sweet treat.
According to reports, the girls assumed they were the regular gummi bear candies. However, it was actually a fake version, loaded with Cannabis.
Paramedics rushed to La Sainte’s Union Catholic School, Camden. And that’s when they discovered the horror of the situation. All 13 girls fell sick after eating the candies, during their break time.
Meanwhile, Scotland Yard confirmed the news, saying it contained THC, an active ingredient of cannabis. As a result of eating it, the girls weren’t feeling well. At the same time, Scotland Yard mentioned how the treats were in fact fake. They appeared as if they were the classic gummy candies but they weren’t.
MET police officers released a new statement in Camden. Here, they announced how they knew that the candies contained THC. Moreover, it’s appalling how some people play with the lives of others. ‘We await the test results so we can determine the exact quantity,’ they exclaimed.
Authorities also mentioned how no one is ‘seriously unwell.’ Above all, it’s too early to comment on the entire situation and the investigation process continues. Likewise, the police haven’t made any arrests as well.
Meanwhile, some of the girls spent the night at the hospital.
The school is now asking the parents to write a letter explaining how the kids managed to get a hold of the candies in the first place.Reports confirmed how the girls ate the candies and reported feeling unwell and dizzy.
Still, they decided to head back to their class, unknowing what was wrong. While some vomited there and then, others just felt unwell across the board. On that note, ambulances and paramedics rushed to the scene, taking the girls to the hospital. Pictures soon went viral, showing rows of ambulances parked outside the school’s premises.
Most importantly, THC causes a ‘high’ and that’s why it’s illegal in the UK. But how did the kids manage to get a hold of the fake gummy bears? Citizens are eagerly awaiting the results of the investigation.
