However, the news came with plenty of controversy and speculation recently after the ride featured the much-talked-about scene featuring the true love’s kiss with the sleeping princess in bed.

News reports went on to mention how that particular scene did not go down too well with critics who slammed its inclusion, claiming it model’s bad behavior. In the scene, the prince can be seen giving his love Snow White a kiss, as she remains in a cursed trance state, assuming that she is actually dead.

This is not the first time that this particular scene has come in the line of fire. It had previously been severely criticized in the past from the famous 1937 movie.

Critics explained their behavior by mentioning how the scene undermined the great lessons relating to consent by showing how the prince expressed a gesture of love to Snow White, while she is fast asleep in bed.

The famous Disneyland theme park opened up in Anaheim in California after being shut down for nearly a year, due to the pandemic. Moreover, it featured a mega overhaul of fame attached to the Snow White ride.

While the ride previously focused upon the wicked queen, also known as Snow White’s Scary Journey ride, the new one has a more loving and lighthearted approach attached to the story. Therefore, experts explained how the ride features new animatronics as well as completely new scenes.

Now, the ride ends with the much-anticipated scene, ‘true love’s kiss’. Here is where the Prince kisses his love, assuming she is dead, breaking her free from the Queen’s evil curse, which initially put her inside a deep trance.

Several reviewers were quick to point out their views on the controversial scene. “He gave her a kiss without the concept of consent, just while she was asleep. And that just can’t be true love because only one person knows that it’s actually happening.”

Critics also went on to add, “Did we not already note that consent was a major issue in previous Disney movies too? It is not OK to show kids kissing without it being an established fact that both parties are actually willing to engage in the act.”

Many critics also strongly felt that it was absolutely puzzling to see the makers of 2021 Disneyland rides actually selecting such an old-fashioned idea of what men are willing to do to women, despite debates arising over the emphasis of removing such problematic rides in the first place.
