UK based mothers are bidding farewell to the concept of covering themselves during breastfeeding.
Several bold and inspiring women have united for a cause that has been subject to debates for decades.
The combination of shared footage from nursing mothers was a part of the viral challenge that left many critics speechless.
26-year-old Emily Sophie, a resident of Surrey, posted a video on Facebook that focused on her and other mothers’ ditching clothes as well as blankets. This was done in an attempt to raise awareness about the challenges women face with breastfeeding.
The video showcases the difficulty level associated with supporting a baby with one hand and covering with the other.
On a routine basis, many women face negativity from critics across the board about public breastfeeding. But that did not stop Emily from retorting back with a powerfully captioned post that quotes as: – ‘If my breastfeeding offends you feel free to put a blanket over your head.’
This viral footage is being termed as the latest alternative to the ‘Don’t Rush Challenge’ where social media enthusiasts may be seen performing their best to Young T and Bugsey’s ‘Don’t Rush’ melody.
The video posted by Emily has attracted a whopping 35,000 views, featuring mothers that include the likes of Molly Stevens, Sophie Ann Kingsley, Tiffany Galicza, Karen Redmond, Harriet Leci, Jodie Hatfield and more.point 309 |

The video’s concept, originally thought out by Emily Sophie, was aimed at dispelling all negative connotations linked to breastfeeding. Emily felt the need to highlight stigmas associated with making women feel uncomfortable and guilty of breastfeeding in public.
Emily also states that the idea popped up after viewing multiple Tik Tok trends, leaving her with the option of adding her twist to a much-needed cause. Normalizing breastfeeding without having to resort to covering up your babies is something she strongly advocates in and hence wanted the issue highlighted.
The video features each mother depicting two breastfeeding scenarios- one appearing restless with a covered baby and the other all glammed up without any covers.
The appreciation from viewers came as a chain of comments, applauding women for their impactful stance.
