Brian Dennehy was an American actor who worked for 40 years and entertained his fans throughout his entire life.
He was considered an asset in Hollywood, and many stars of this day and age looked up to him as a mentor and guide.
If you have a look at his work in Cocoon and First Blood, you won’t be surprised why the young generation of actors heroized him. No wonder, they wanted to be like him because his acting skills were inexplicably splendid.
It’s sad that we have lost this great actor recently. He was found dead at his home and when his dead body was inspected, it seemed to be a natural death. No outstanding signs were found that could hint at him dying an unnatural death.
He was a rare gem of the acting world, because there haven’t been many people to try their hand at all possible mediums of entertainment. He was a film and tv actor who also manifested his skills in theatre. He was a master of all trades, so to say.
Many tv and film actors are afraid of theatrical stuff, because that is a tough nut to crack. Even the biggies would be frightened of exhibiting their acting skills before a live audience. But Dennehy was born different, he was born to act, he was born to make the audience drool over his acting.
He got his first breakthrough in 1977 with a miniscule part in Kojak. Later, he became a regular face of The Dynasty. First Blood gave him recognition as an actor, to be honest. This is where his career reached a new peak. Things began to change for good after this very project.
He did make it to the silver screen with the movie, Cocoon – which was a massive hit. He got this movie in the year 1985. He was last seen on the series The Blacklist which got aired on tv in 2019. He started in 1977 and worked till 2019, and in this long journey he never got tired of acting because this is what he loved the most.
RIP Brian. You’ll be missed in the artistic fraternity.
