In Wales, a boy was sent flying 40ft by a rushing car in a terrifying accident.
Security footage showed that the boy —wearing a purple football shirt— is in danger.
In the video, two kids are walking out of a house, and there is a navy blue vehicle parked on the near side that blocks the view of the road.
The clip shows that the boy ran into the road ahead of his friend until a speeding red car suddenly appeared on the other side of the road.
The boy tried to run away from danger but it was too late. He is hit by the red car as it attempted to stop, sending him through the air before his body crashed to the ground.
The driver went out to check on the young boy but eventually drove off and left the boy behind.
Luckily, the boy survived the accident with only a broken collar bone and arm, and the driver was soon arrested.
The footage of the incident was shown at Swansea Magistrates’ Court where the driver pleaded guilty for not stopping, he also pleaded guilty to failing to report the car accident.
During the court hearing, District Judge Christopher James said that the driver was given little time to react.
“You stopped after the collision and went to see him,” James told local media. “At that stage, he was with an adult you believed was known to him.”
“Following that you got back in your vehicle and left.,” James added. “You must have known he would have been injured by the nature of that collision.”
The driver was given 12-month community service and sentenced to do 160 hours of unpaid work.
