Chicago police released more detailed and graphic footage of the killing of a 13-year-old boy named Adam Toledo by an officer last month.
The enhanced bodycam footage displays the slain seventh-grader Adam Toledo who police claim was armed. Moreover, the daunting video shows the minute-by-minute action of how an officer shot dead the 13-year-old in a second as he was reportedly holding a gun, right before being killed by the officer.
Released on Thursday by the Chicago Police Department, the footage revealed Adam Toledo running at a fast pace in an alley, right before he was ordered to halt. That is the exact moment where he raised his arms in the air, as reported by CBS 2 Chicago.
Moreover, the enhanced footage was released during the later hours of the day which showed a slow-motion video, intentionally being paused several times. Cops claim the entire purpose of the detailed version was to vividly display the weapon possessed by the 7th grader, which he carefully carried in his right hand.
When it came to the exact time, a little less than a second passes by before Toledo can be seen carrying the weapon to when he is actually stuck with a gunshot by the officer, claimed the police.
“Police, stop, stop right now,” that is what officer Eric Stillman yells on the video in a loud and abrupt tone. Therefore, a chase then ensues where the officer attempts to chase the boy down the alley. “Put your hands in the air, show me your hands,” he again yells at the teen.
Next, the officer orders Adam to drop the gun twice, right before Adam turns around, and then the officer fires one shot at the teen.
Cops responded to a number of reports in the area, after which they came across Adam Toledo, followed by another suspect.
