An Ohio-based police officer screamed, ‘blue lives matter’ right after his fellow colleague shot a 16-year-old black teen dead.
While the identity of the cops is yet to be revealed, news reports confirmed how 16-year-old Ma’Khia Bryant was fatally shot 4 times by the cop and died instantly on the spot. The 16-year-old hails from Columbus in Ohio and investigations into the case revealed how the young girl had made an emergency call to 911.
She informed the operators how she feared being under attack, and also reported one attempted stabbing incident too. Therefore, on Tuesday afternoon, police officers rushed to the designated destination to investigate what the matter was really all about.
Upon arrival, they saw a small group of young girls, accompanied by a young boy too. Out of the blue, Ma’Khia began behaving in a violent manner with two of the girls and when one of the officers ordered her to stop and get on the ground, she refused.
Moreover, she even appeared to attack another female using a knife that was in one of her hands.
Failed to comply with the officer’s demanders, she was shot four times by the cop, resulting in her instant death.
The crime scene was immediately cordoned off by authorities. But the police managed to attract plenty of criticism for screaming, ‘Blue lives matter’ at the bystanders who stood and watched the entire incident unfold before their eyes.
Soon enough, a Facebook video started making the rounds, posted by a man named Tay Jones which shows the officers standing behind the laid-out police tape.
And out of the blue, one states, ‘blue lives matter’ to the crowd of people gathered. The already upset individuals didn’t like the officers’ comments one bit and hence the comment started to prompt them with fury.
One person immediately responded to the cop with, ‘it’s an insult, especially at this place right now!’
