Mother Found A Secret Note On The Product And Noticed Someone Was Asking For Help


A mother found a note asking for help from a prisoner carefully hidden inside an Aldi product.

She bought a box of “Hegs Pegs with Hooks” from Aldi store and found a note asking to write from a prison inmate.

The prisoner might have written the note on the box while packaging the pack of clothes pegs at the Mobilong Prison in Murray Bridge in South Australia.

The prison inmate wrote his name and inmate ID number before a message: ‘Mobilong Prison, Murray Bridge, write me.’

The mom went to the Aldi store and bought the sell-out item at the Special Buys event before discovering the message.  

After discovering the bizarre message, she posted a picture of it to a Facebook group with the caption: ‘Did anyone else buy these fantastic Aussie made pegs from ALDI last week and get a secret message inside the packaging?’

After seeing the post, other Aldi shoppers were happy with her discovery. One shopper commented that by the end of the day, this guy is now going to have thousands of pen pals.

Another person wrote: ‘All of a sudden, receives 50k letters.’ And the third person said that if only he knew how much attention he had from this.

The spokesperson of Aldi said that the pegs are branded products from Hegs Pegs supplier, and this product is available at several retailers.

The product “Hegs Pegs with Hooks” is a clothes pegs not only sold in Aldi but also at  Woolworths, Coles, Big W, The Good Guys, Harvey Norman, and Mitre 10.

The South Australian Department of Correctional Services confirmed that the Hegs Pegs are produced at the Mobilong Prison. The spokesperson of the Department of Correctional Services said that the DCS is proud to support the production of Hegs Pegs.

Other products like Citrus fruit, olive oil, dairy produce, milk, garden pots, statues, cement pavers and sleepers, pallet assembly, furniture, vehicle repairs, retrofitting trailers, and tray tops are produced by SA prisons.
