Both the House as well as the Senate rejected challenges to President-elect, Joe Biden’s Arizona victory recently.
The news came in as drama and violence rocked the US capitol on Wednesday. Meanwhile, the objection towards Arizona’s electoral votes was brought upon by Senators Ted Cruz and Arizona GOP Representatives, Paul Gosar and Andy Biggs. Media reports suggested how the objection to the votes failed by a massive 93-6 in the Senate.
A total of six close allies of President Trump supported the motion.
In the same way, news also broke out recently about how many other Republicans who planned to show support for the objection, changed their minds. This came in light of the recent pro-Trump raid which resulted in one of the most fatal shootings, followed by 3 other casualties, and several other injuries.
In addition, reports explained how as many as 14 other GOP senators were expected to back up Cruz and all of his colleagues. These individuals argued about how the courts suddenly and illegally changed all of the voter registration deadlines of the state.
On the other hand, the House also voted on accepting Arizona’s electors that voted for Biden by a greater margin than that expected, before the assault. And this was where the vote stood at 303-121 in the House.
Just when 140 House Republicans planned on showing their rejection and disapproval, an unprecedented scene of destruction took over the Capitol.
From smashed windows and office thefts to wild scuffles with the police- it was massive chaos all over.
On that note, rattled and abruptly shook legislative leaders vowed to stay at the Capitol. And that was until a certified victory of Biden’s 306- 232 was officially confirmed. The debate was suddenly interrupted when a group of unhappy pro-Trump supporters barged in on the Congress session. They overpowered Capitol Police, right after Trump addressed the crowd near the vicinity of the White House. That is also where the President declared how he was cheated upon by fraud, resulting in his ultimate loss.
