US President Joe Biden has finally spoken up amid the surge in violence between Israel and Palestine recently.
Biden took part in a telephonic conversation with Israel’s prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu after the conflict in Gaza escalated to new highs as dozens were killed in fresh airstrikes.
Moreover, the President mentioned how Israel carries all rights to defend itself against the large array of rockets being fired by Hamas as well as a series of other groups from Gaza. This was in retaliation to the nation’s large amount of aggression that left so many innocent civilians dead, including young children too.
Biden went on to reveal how he expected the large surge in tension and conflict to close down sooner than later.
“Israel has every right to carry out defense attacks when there are thousands of rockets hitting the skies into your territory,” explained Biden. However, critics were quick to call out the President for being ignorant and turning his eye on how Israel’s aggression was mainly focused upon targeting innocent civilians, for the past few days.
On Wednesday, the health ministry of Palestine confirmed how the number of deaths that have taken place from the recent Israeli airstrikes over the blocked Gaza Strip was more than 60. This included more than 14 kids as the violence initially began when Israel attacked Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa Compound.
The ministry released a statement that spoke about how three women were among the victims killed in Gaza, which has been under Hamas control. In the same way, a total of 305 people had been injured as a result of Israel’s attack.
On Wednesday, Hamas was quick to confirm how a few of its leading commanders were killed in the Israeli airstrikes.
On the other hand, Hamas’ religious group by the name of Qassem Brigades has vowed to turn the entire town into a living hell, as it launched a total of 137 rockets near Ashdod in just 5 minutes. But more than 90% of the rockets managed to be intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome Defense System.
The latest reports suggest how the Biden administration is working hard behind the scenes to push forward for de-escalation with Egypt.
