President Biden now wants to begin the construction left off by former President Trump to help fill the gaps.
The shocking news comes as the Biden administration struggles with the ongoing migrant crisis where camps are more than 7 times their overall capacity. In addition, the living conditions are in a dire state with many experts referring to it as nothing less than a humanitarian crisis.
The news comes from DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas who mentioned boldly on Friday about the President’s decision.
He explained to the media how the ongoing construction would pave the way to fill in the gaps present in the wall currently.
The huge move to resume the construction is not a shocking spectacle for many but also a prime example of Biden going back on his own words, mentioned many. And that’s because the President of the US mentioned on Day One of his office how he would freeze Trump’s decision of continuing with construction on the Southern Border. And that’s exactly what he did.
Biden made headlines when he issued a major executive order from his office where he froze all of the funding from the Defense budget that was allocated to the border wall’s construction. In the same way, he also ended the national emergency order that was placed at that border too.
The homeland Secretary mentioned recently how the new construction would close all the spaces that are seen from the current barrier between both the US and Mexico. Biden now believes that they have to go and that’s why he needs to start construction again, the secretary added.
The migrant facilities are literally stretched beyond limits, as mentioned in a recent report with many calling it an emergency that is proving to be a major challenge for the Biden administration.
