President-elect Joe Biden rolled out his ‘first’ gay cabinet nominee recently.
On Wednesday, Mr. Biden referred to Pete Buttigieg as his ‘first’ gay nominee for this cabinet. Unfortunately, things did not go quite as planned when he called Buttigieg’s husband ‘Kirsten.’ The shocking mistake of using a female name for a gay nominee didn’t go unnoticed by many.
Other than that, Mr. Biden also omitted the mention of President Donald Trump who named the first-ever gay cabinet official.
Joe Biden first noted his true fondness for Buttigieg’s husband, whose real name is Chasten, during his speech at Wilmington in Delaware. That was the point where he formally named the ex-mayor from South Bend in Indiana, as his transportation secretary nominee.
Meanwhile, he also took snub at Ric Grenell, who President Trump celebrated as the first gay member of his cabinet. He worked for a good three months as the national intelligence acting director.

38-year-old Buttigieg won Iowa’s caucuses when it came to the delegate’s count for the year. However, they kept on endorsing Biden as a way to prevent Vermont’s Senator, Bernie Sanders, who won the popular vote in the first 3 states.
Joe Biden’s embarrassing mistake caught a few people off guard. And that was especially when he referred to how Buttigieg would be a part of those from the ‘cabinet of firsts.’ In addition, Biden referred to how Buttigieg would be the ‘first-ever openly gay nominee that would lead his cabinet department.’
As his transportation secretary, Buttigieg will sit atop of numerous agencies which include Administration for Federal Aviation as well as the Federal Highway.
