A 12-year-old autistic boy fights for his life in coma, after drinking an alcoholic beverage mixed with bleach.
According to reports, 12-year-old Ronnie Phillips, from Crawly, West Sussex, sneaked through his home with his younger brother. Meanwhile, his mother was fast asleep, having no idea about her children’s shenanigans.
However, the mother, Danielle Porter, says that both of her sons met some older boys that night. And they gave 12-year-old Ronnie a concoction, claiming it was gin. While investigations are still going on in terms of what the substance was, his family believes it was bleach.
After drinking the dangerous potion, Ronnie immediately fell down on the streets, collapsing into an unconscious state. That caused the kids to run away, as claimed by Ms. Potter. She went on to add how her boys stayed out till the late hours of the night. However, police officers found them and escorted them back to their residence in the morning.
Jimmy, the 11-year-old younger brother of Ronnie, is traumatized by the entire ordeal. He literally thought his brother was dead, staying by his side till the last moment, until cops arrived. Suddenly, a passerby saw them both, and assisted them. She immediately contacted emergency services to get medical aid.
On that note, paramedics rushed young Ronnie to the nearest emergency services of Tooting’s St. George Hospital. Here, the poor boy received immediate medical attention. And that meant medical experts had no other option but to place him in the pediatric section of intensive care. Ronnie could only breathe with assistance from life support machines.
Currently, Ronnie is off life support and doctors expect him to recover quickly, before giving him the signal to go home. Ever since the tragic incident, his mother is taking to social media to raise awareness about the heart wrenching incident.
She wants other parents to know what she went through and how people play with the lives of others. Posting through Facebook, Ms. Potter claims:
‘I just want to make people understand the dangers of drink, drugs, playing stupid games, and running away to leave a child to die.’
While Ronnie is recovering positively, he doesn’t understand why no one likes him, revealed his grandma. It’s mindboggling why someone would ever do such a thing to anyone, when they called themselves as ‘friends.’ Sadly, we live in a cruel world where you can’t trust anybody.
