Authorities have found the missing white Audi that was believed to have a young child still inside.
According to the Metropolitan Police, A white Audi A3 was reported missing, which was last seen in Beckton, East London, at 12:18pm Thursday.
A plea to the public was made via Twitter in an effort to speed up the search for the missing car, as the police wrote:
“We are urgently trying to locate a white Audi A3 reg GK20 AFU that has been reported missing. We believe there is a young child inside.The car was last seen in Beckton Triangle, E6 #Newham at approx 12:18hrs today. If seen please call 999.”
The concerned public promptly assisted the authorities as they retweeted the post, leading the authorities to find both the car and the missing child.
“Thank you for your retweets. The white Audi we appealed for has been found and the child located safe and well elsewhere,” the Met Police wrote.
A 23-year-old man was arrested following the incident, on suspicion of wasting police time, perverting the course of justice and causing a public nuisance.
It is believed that the man reported the theft of the car with the child still inside.
“We’re establishing the circumstances of the report,” said the police.
The police did not reveal the identity of the man and the child.
