The Dodger Stadium, which houses one of the largest vaccination sites in the country, was temporarily shut down after protesters blocked the entrance.
The Los Angeles Fire Department had to shut the entrance leading to the vaccination center as a precaution, stalling hundreds of motorists who had waited in line for hours.
There were neither incidents of violence nor arrests made during the protest, and the latter drew the ire of critics on Twitter.
“This is completely wrong,” German Jaquez said.
Jaquez drove for about six hours to get to the site and had waited for an hour for his vaccination when the gates of the stadium were closed.
“I’ve been waiting for weeks to get an appointment,” he said.
“I am a dentist. I am taking a big risk being around patients. I want to be safe for my patients and for my family.”
According to those who incovenienced, some of the protesters are convincing people in line that the coronavirus is not real, and that the vaccination is dangerous.
The protesters, some of which are members of anti-vaccine and far-right groups, carried signs decrying the vaccine.
“Wow. Have fun being a byproduct of Bill Gates,” said one of the protesters.
“You are becoming a lab rat,” said another.
The protest, dubbed as the “Scamdemic” march, was apparently organized via social media.
The organizers advised participants to “refrain from wearing Trump/MAGA attire as we want our statement to resonate with the sheeple.”
“No flags but informational signs only,” the organizers wrote.
“This is a sharing information protest and march against everything COVID, Vaccine, PCR Tests, Lockdowns, Masks, Fauci, Gates, Newsom, China, digital tracking, etc.”
Authorities had kept the gates closed until about 3pm, and reports say the site was fully functioning around 5pm.
