‘American Airlines’ is facing a huge backlash after they had announced that they are allowing their flight attendants to wear black lives matter pins on their uniforms.
On Sunday, after announcing this new policy of wearing BLM pins, many workers are divided into half. Some white American workers are fighting back against the policy, especially those whose relatives are cops or working in law enforcement.
They are saying that this BLM movement is promoting violence and is an anti-police.
One veteran flight attendant was not happy at all about this new policy; she said her husband is a law enforcement officer, and so was his late father. She says it is offensive and for her, all lives matter.
Another flight attendant refused to wear the pin as he described the movement as a terrorist group and said that it promotes violence, and he would rather wear his NYPD pin to support the police department.
One of the staff stated she is completely disgusted by the fact that we cannot show our support to our God, to our country, or our law enforcement officers, but have to show our support to Black Lives matter, which is a controversial organization.
Another said that if they allow us to wear pins, then they’ll wear trump pins to support the commander-in-chief.
American Airlines’ senior vice president, Jill Surdek, said that this is our one way to support the BLM movement.
She said they are working with Black Professional Network to design a specific pin for the uniform.
She further added that until the new pin is produced, people will wear Black Lives Matter Pin.AA said that BLM is not a political cause, but a universal cause about equality and humanity, BLM is the expression of equality, and it does not mean that other lives don’t matter, it means, that in our society black lives should matter and be valued the same as others.
But angry employees are accusing AA, that they are doing this to keep up with Delta Airlines, who also designed their own pin to support the BLM movement.
