An unidentified creature was spotted transforming itself 3,700 feet deep in the ocean before meeting an unfortunate end.
The now-viral video first posted on YouTube begins with the creature looking like a monster from an old arcade game floating around.
40 seconds later, the creature shrunk into a ball-like figure, and then it transforms again that resembles the elongated top of a lemon squeezer.
After some time, the creature emitted different colors as it tries to swim away, spreading what seemed to be like a fin-like structure.
The video, which was filmed deep in the Indian Ocean, was posted online back in 2013 by a YouTuber under the username CaptainJRD.
It recently resurfaced and gained notoriety for simply looking unreal.
“This video was taken by an ROV (remotely operated vehicle) at a depth of 3753 ft in the Indian Ocean within close proximity to a drill wellhead,” CaptainJRD captioned.
“Near the end of the footage you can see the creature getting caught up in the output from the ROV thrusters.”
Many of the viewers were left stunned by what they saw and tried to make sense of the strange phenomenon.
“Majestically drifts, majestically shape shifts, majestically glows, majestically does a couple of cute spins and gets brutally ripped apart and tossed in the void. Rip glow globe,” one user wrote in the comments section.
Another thought that it is a “pretty little creature,” but was aghast at the creature’s unfortunate end.
Some users expressed their skepticism as they wrote that the creature is nothing but a CGI.
The 1-minute and 18-second long video had managed to gather over 3 million views, 21,000 likes, and more than 4,000 comments as of this writing.
