A chocolate shop from Seattle was recently slammed after it allegedly refused to serve police officers in the district.
The chocolate shop mentioned how it was now working towards creating a more inviting as well as inclusive and cohesive community, right after reports went viral on social media regarding how one employee from the store reportedly refused to serve one pair of police officers.
The president of the Police Officers Guild in Seattle, Mike Solan, mentioned to Fox News recently how one office and his fellow trainee walked into the store called Chocolati Cafes, which is located in the Wallingford neighborhood. Here is where they were blatantly refused service from the employee in a shocking ordeal.
“They were both met with a lot of hostility,” he added. However, with the great amount of support as well as pushback that they received from the community overall as well as from those around the nation, people still support the officers and the great services that they provide.”
As far as the actual incident is concerned, both officers were ignored rudely by the seller when they requested a box of chocolates. On that note, the employee responded regarding the request, boldly saying ‘no, I do not wish to serve you.”
In a shocking message posted through social media upon its Facebook page, Chocolati mentioned how neither the company nor any of its other employees support or represent the action of that one particular individual.
“While we are all very supportive of the idea of free speech as well as the actions of the instance, this certainly doesn’t represent any of our views as an organization.” In the same way, they also spoke about they are totally against the idea of discrimination, adding how it just is not a practice that would work towards healing the great divide present in the city.
