A tragic incident happened in Melbourne, Australia as a 38-year old white woman smashes a 26-year old female cop’s head on the floor for asking her to wear a face mask as per the city policies.
According to the Chief Health Officer, the officers are advised to enforce the SOPs and face masks restrictions and the young officer was in her due right to approach the lady and ask her to wear a mask.
The young cop was on patrol with another fellow when the woman got violent in response. The cop is believed to have suffered through concussing after the extreme physical assault.
Shane Patton, Victoria Police Chief, took notice of the unfortunate incident as she addressed the issue in a press conference.
Giving more details, she said the woman smashed the cop’s head on the concrete ground several times after pushing her hard and agitated verbally as well. Both officers went on ground and a fight between both parties happened.
She also ripped the officer’s hair during her assault. Shane Patton stated in the press conference that such behavior will not be accepted at all.
She said people like her think they are above the law that they don’t have to wear a mask and upon approaching them for their own good, they react in such an aggressive way.
Wayne Gatt, the Police Union Secretary, also commented on the sad incident calling it as “absolutely reprehensible”. He also gave more information on the offender’s part as she said similar words to the officer “what is it like to have your hair in my hands?”.
The wounded cop was taken to Frankston Hospital where she received the necessary treatment and was assessed for medical injuries. She has returned to her home safely now and doing alright.
