Authorities have finally revealed the identity of the Ohio-based police officer who fatally shot 16-year-old Ma’Khia Bryant to death.
According to media reports, the officer was identified as Nicholas Reardon who was immediately placed upon a paid leave and removed from the streets after news broke out regarding the incident.
Nicholas shot the 16-year-old black teen to death with four bullets when she failed to comply with the officer’s orders of getting down on the ground. At that time, conflicting reports regarding the incident went on to add how she was attempting to stab another young teen using a knife that was present in her hand.
Therefore, after the cop fired at her, she fell down to the ground, with the knife laying right beside her.
All the details of the incident were revealed this morning through the release of bodycam footage of the officer involved in the incident, confirmed reports.
The Columbus police officer is a member of the National Guard Troops and is termed to be a specialist in firing assault rifles as well. For this reason, he is known for being a military-trained marksman.
The cop is better known as a US Air National Guardsman that also received an expert marksman badge, alongside his M4 Carbine rifle, mentioned the Daily Beast.
He reportedly joined the police department in the year 2019 and is also known to be the son of a US Air Force Veteran as well as retired Columbus Division of Police Sergeant, mentioned the outlet.
