In Brazil, a man is on the loose after he allegedly decapitated his wife with a scythe in front of their 10-year-old son.
Jadir Souza da Silva, 51, fled the family home using his car during the early hours of April 10 in Sidrolandia.
According to the police, they received a report from the neighbours that Jadir and his schoolteacher wife are having a heated argument.
When the police arrived, they discovered the lifeless body of Telma Rabero, 44, who had been scythed to death in front of her 10-year-old son.
The 10-year-old was placed in the care of his relatives and is reportedly going to counselling to deal with the trauma.
Based on the autopsy, there are clear signs that Telma was decapitated with a scythe.
Police officers added that the relatives said that Telma wanted and had been thinking to leave her husband for quite some time. But, she was scared to leave because of Jadir’s aggressive behaviour.
Jadir —who had already escaped by the time the officers arrived— was last seen on a ranch close to where he had abandoned the car.
As of this writing, the investigation is still ongoing. The police issued a manhunt and asked the Brazilian public for help for any information that may lead to the suspect’s arrest.
